Medieval Reflection

Posted on February 26th, 2008 in Block G, soc.studies, Uncategorized by 6joe

1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?

I feel I am successful on doing my visual. My visual was a knight but it was a kangaroo that played the knights part so it was a bit pro. I am proud of doing my presentation that it gave lots of info and was a little entertaining.

2. What new skills did I value learning?

The skills that i valued learning was presenting better and being creative with my puppet story.

3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?

The challenging part of the project was the game I had to be a little picky about what game I wanted to do I thought that it was either going to be so boring or too easy. But I knew they were preschoolers so I made it easy.

4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?

I could improve my process by being more organized and more prepared for what might happened.

5. Did I effectively create an age-appropriate presentation and game for the elementary students? (please explain how you know it was appropriate or how you could have changed it to be more appropriate)?

Yes because it was a bit too easy and when I gave the information it actually gave everything away and it was also easy to remember and we also play SIMON SAYS which was seriously easy. Like awsomely easy.

Jeopardy Question Reflection

Posted on December 3rd, 2007 in soc.studies, Uncategorized by 6joe

1. What did I feel successful doing during the process of the project? What am I proud of?

I felt really good doing my part of the quiz which is putting my questions down even though i didn’t know how to link it to the right page. I also felt really good for doing my questions that are quite hard to answer but is also easy to answer but there pretty short so I wish that I could have made the questions longer and easier to understand. I am proud of my questions being answer and that no one could ever understand the, it was so funny.

2. What new skills did I value learning?

I learned how to hyper link the pages for Microsoft PowerPoint into another page to make a kind of like a maze but it on the computer. I also valued learning how to create a JEOPARDY GAME. I also learned how to put picture in a PowerPoint and how long it takes.

3. What was challenging during the process of completing the project? With what did I struggle?

In our group there wasn’t really any problem in our group but in other groups i think that there was a problem of  hyper linking to the wrong pages that really messed up the games cause sometimes they linked it to the wrong pages where there was the answer so we could see the answer. We didn’t really struggle about anything but we had a hard time cooperating with each other cause we didn’t really like each other or know each other that much.

4. How could I have improved my process so that I would have been more effective?

I could have improved on my questions by explaining them more. I also could have made it more confusing for them to answer because i don’t like people answering my questions like right away.

#1  Think about the presentations  and reflect on the projects your classmates presented and the information you listened to. Explain with details and specific information what you learned, what you found interesting, surprising, or shocking about the presentations you heard in class.

The things that my class mates presented were about the problems of the world which concerns the UN. Some of the information of the presentations of the class were hard to catch so maybe I didn’t catch anything but i was listening very hard to the people who were speaking so maybe I caught some like in one of the presentations of my friends they said that there was a council called ICC International Criminal Court and ICJ International Court of Justice and I found that interesting. And also in another presentation I found suprising is that there are UN helpers all over the world and I found shocking is that it has only been lasting for such a long time.

#2 What would you do to change  if you were able to do the project/presentation over again?

I think I would change the way I wrote and try to make it shorter in whatever I had to do and I will also make it abit more colorful.

The U.N Question.

            The United Nations and Reformed

Question: Overall do you feel the U.N. is successful organization? Why or why not. Cite examples to support your view.

Answer:  I feel that the U.N. could use a bit more improvement it is a bit successful but mostly they fail they could use a bit more collaboration because they are always failing and not achieving as much goals as they can and also because wars are happening all over the world and I think that they need to get confirmation from whom ever is going to war they should get like a messenger.

Examples: “In the recent years the U.N have failed to act decisively in establishing or maintaining security for people under its protection. In 1993 a U.N mission failed ton protect local warlords from seizing food from intended for starving citizens of Somalia“.

“Famous Egyptian Reflection”

The things I found interesting with all of the of the speeches was King Tuts speech because it was ver good in explaning in what he was talking about. The begining also caught my attension because just from that paragraph I knew that this was going to be good. The things that I leanerned about this speech is that King Tut is the most Famous king in the world and that he was nine when he received the crown and he was eighteen when he died. If I was to reapet this assigment again I would try to make the begining more interseting and the body of the speech I would make it more entertaining so that its not just apile of information. I will also get more information because in my speech I got a lot of the same facts.

Greetings people of the earth,  my name is RA.  I am the Sun God of Egypt. I am also known as RE (ray) and I also represent light and I am important to the Egyptians and I am also ruler of all and am the most well-known solar-god.  I also travel in a boat (some of these facts will be repeated). To know me better,  I am going to be talking to you about my life in the past.

3 W’S: Who is RA?

Ra is the sun god of Egypt and he is also important to them. Ra also traveled in a boat protecting the earth from the underworld. He is also the great and supreme Sun god.

          What is RA?

Ra is a simple sun disk and also the most well-known solar god. Ra is also a god of many symbols and a god whose name signified by an eye. Ra is also a creator god

          Where is RA?

Everyday in the morning RA joins other gods in a battle against the underworld. RA is also in the sky at a journey in a boat traveling with other gods protecting us from the underworld.

          Significance.

Ra is a god of many symbols and whose name that was signified by an eye. Some say that sun is seen as the body or eye of Ra. He is the supreme sun god. Ra made Shu the god of air and Tefnut the god of moisture he gave birth to Nut the sky goddess and the earth goddess Geb. Ra is all powerful at noon. If RA appeared as a child they say he is rising from a lotus, falcon, cat, and a scarab.

Heliopolis was an early worship of the sun god RA. During those times the Egyptian kings were given the titles “SON OF RE” then other god were later considered universal rulers. Other myths tell about ra rulling as an earthly king. Other gods then absorbed ra’s solar nature and joined names

If he is drawn as a human RA is holding the ank a symbol of life in the right hand and the scepter the symbol of power in others in the other hand.

1.What is the issue?

The issue is that in blacksburg, virginia tech the police have found the ID (identification) of the killer of students in campus but still the police is not yet ready to tell the world who the killer is. As the campus and the nation come to the most deadliest and most dangerouse in the whole of the U.S HISTORY! ”there are many question but little have been answered”.

2.Who is involved?

The people who are involved are the people in the campus and their families and friends and the whole of AMERICA.

3.Who is affected and how?

The people who is affected is the people on campus because they might be the next target of the killer and the  families of the poeple who dieded because they should have not gone to that school IF they knew this was going to happend and AMERICA  is also affected because they have to be extra carefull where they are going and who they are meeting.

4.What would i do if i were directly invovlved?

If i were directly involved i would cancel school and and stay at home and put security all over the place and make a city lockedown so that everyone is safe.

How does this affect the world?

This affects the beacuse the criminal could change his IC and slip past security and could be in anypalce killing freely.
